vLewis & Clark continued from page 33 • If you just want to relax next to the campfire, Lewis and Clark Recreation Area provides 409 paved campsites, 19 camping cabins, 8 equestrian campsites and a variety of other amenities. All campers are required to have a reservation or to check in with park staff before they set up on a site. When you check in at the Welcome Center be sure to peruse the gift shop area for a memorable item from your visit. • Special events throughout the year draw visitors for added outdoor fun. Homestead Day in June relives trades of the past. Rope making, candle making and homemade ice cream highlight the day. Lewis & Clark Fun Camp for kids ages 4-6 and 7-10 teaches children about the outdoors and the beauty of nature. Classes are held both in June and July. Fall in the Park at Lewis and Clark in September is a fun afternoon of crafts and outdoor activities for all ages.
